Yesterday at Little Moreton Hall, Cheshire - in many ways this is the opposite of the grand manor house I visited last week. Little Moreton isn’t full of material wealth like Waddesdon, but it’s a treasure in and of itself - a remarkably intact Tudor house with original wooden beaming, ceilings, moat, glass, a 400-year-old dining table…the sense of history there is immense. There are features that have survived since the 1500s, it pre-dates Queen Elizabeth I. It’s all crooked and chipped and ageing and beautiful, and incredible how it’s escaped change over hundreds of years.
Vegan all-day cooked breakfast - Linda McCartney sausages, hash browns, peeled plum tomatoes, baked beans, mushrooms and toast.
I come from one of those British families who survived on ‘ye olde family classics’ such as cottage pie, chips, jam roly-poly, toad in the hole, apple crumble, sticky toffee pudding, stew and potato-everything for generations. I feel like I shouldn’t go too long without eating British stodge in case my grandmother & her ancestors are offended.
feasssssst!!!! local organic greens topped with brown rice (more than poctured), fresh peppers and sweet potato fries + ketchup on the side😋 all organic, mostly local! I haven’t had a good meal in a while so eating this was absolute heaven❤️ hope you’re all having fantastic days!
